Everyone needs clean drinking water, there’s not one person in the world who doesn’t.

That is why A Greener Future is working hard to cleanup local waterbodies for ourselves and for future generations. Freshwater is an invaluable resource that we sometimes take for granted. It’s so important, yet undervalued and overlooked, and we need to actively protect it.

A Greener Future can do that with the help of your donations.

Why Donate?

Your donations will have a direct impact on the health of our Great Lakes, and the communities that rely on them now, and in the future.

Your donation will:

  • Increase our volunteer capacity by purchasing more equipment

  • Create opportunities for action by hosting more events in 2024

  • Host engaging and educational cleanups on three Great Lakes

  • Pick up and properly dispose of more litter than any previous year

Your support contributes to…

  • Removing waste from our shorelines through cleanup events

  • Collecting data on what’s picked up to support campaigns and change regulations

  • Building a community of environmental stewards that take action

  • Raising awareness about environmental issues

  • Ensuring future generations have access to fresh water

In 2023 we hosted 230 litter cleanups with the help of 1,206 volunteers. This resulted in over 1 million pieces of litter being picked up.

In 2024 we want to do more! We need to increase our capacity by purchasing more equipment and hiring additional summer staff.

  • We are not a charity, we are a federally incorporated nonprofit organization.

  • No, because we are not a registered charity we cannot provide tax-deductible receipts.

  • With your contribution, we are able to support and build capacity within all of our existing programs. We cover program expenses including equipment, staff, event insurance, and data management. We don’t have a lot of overhead because we work remotely and don’t have to pay for rent or bills associated with having a physical office.

  • Your donation receipt will be sent to the email you provide within the donation processing form. If you don’t automatically receive one please reach out and we can email you a copy.

  • We use donation platforms that provide a safe and secure payment processing experience.

    The payment processing systems used by Paypal have been certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. PayPal has automatic fraud screening to protect us and our donors.

    Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, they use best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security.
